Astronomy

The vast expanses of the universe have never failed to capture the imagination of man. His fertile mind drew shapes onto the huge canvas replicating his day to day sights onto the enormous medium. Star gazing as an ancient activity just got better with the advent of the telescope.
Pragyan ’08 brings to you an astronomical workshop in collaboration with Birla Planetarium in Chennai and the Trichy Planetarium. The workshop aims to galvanize the spirit of star-gazing by setting up telescopes on campus. Experts from the Planetariums will be there to show you the various marvels of the universe and guiding you through the heavens with relevant information.
So come hither, as Pragyan ’08 is here to fulfill all your childhood fantasies of peering at the Great Red Spot of Jupiter, the red Martian surface or the vibrant rings of Saturn.
This is a free workshop with no registration fee. No certificates shall be provided for participation.
Dates : 29th February and 1st March, 2008
Time : 6pm - 10pm
