Ham Radio Workshop

Ham radio represents one of the little known aspects of communication, retaining its aura of mystery even in today’s age. Ham radio, very few people know, plays a very vital part in public service broadcasts, disaster warnings etc. In fact very few people know about the contributions of ham operators in passing the tsunami alert during 2005.
Ham Radio Operators undergo a very thorough process before being certified by the government. So this is probably the closest you can get to have the intricacies of Ham Radio explained by an expert attached with ISRO Satellite Center. More than 3 million people in the world pursue HAM radio operating as a hobby!
We, who represent the future of India’s space ambitions, are bound to gain much from this workshop.
In this workshop, experts from the Upagrah Amateur Radio Club (affliated with the ISRO Satellite Center) will be conducting a lecture regarding the various aspects of HAM Radio operation. They will then setup their wireless radio unit on the campus premise and try to contact other HAM radio stations around the world. Expensive wireless equipment will be on display and the team of experts would be glad to answer any of your queries regarding HAM Radio Operation.
This workshop is being organised free of cost and hence there shall be no registration fee. Also no certificates of participation shall be provided for attending this workshop.
Dates : 29th February and 1st March, 2008
