Anoop Poonia

Meet Mr. Anoop Poonia, an outstanding Program Officer from Climate Action Network (CAN) known for his impact on Low-Carbon & Climate-Resilient Development and Climate Finance Framework in India.

As the Co-ordinator of CAN, which is now a 900+ NGO member global network spread over 140 NGOs in 8 countries of South Asia, Mr.Poonia facilitates policy positions and advocacy strategies for its Climate Finance working group.

He is also the President of the Indian Youth Climate Network, which addresses climate change as a potential and real threat to the future of Indian youth.

With the launch a national movement on climate change in India, where a team of young people with a solar-powered music band travelled 2,500 miles for 40 days visiting 15 cities, he managed a sum total of 50,000 hits to India Climate Solutions website with outreach to tens of millions globally.

He has also conducted workshops and interactive sessions on climate change, had direct outreach to colleges, villages, business, concerts and exhibitions to reach the audience on a more personal level.
