Peter C. Schultz

The optical fiber is a widely used technology in modern communication. The internationally recognized scientist, Peter C. Schultz, is the co-inventor of the optical fiber. He is a pioneer in the field of fiber optic communication and his groundbreaking invention paved the way for him to get inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 1993. In addition to his contributions as an inventor, he also takes pride in having provided technical and business consulting services to giants like Intel, SEMATECH International, Yazaki, Furukawa and SPI Lasers. He serves on the Technical Advisory Board of a six-year $10 million project sponsored by the British government to develop the next generation of fiber communication technology and is also the President of a research company (BioSensor Inc., founded in 1997).

His prolific career in which he held 26 patents and published 22 research papers, boasts numerous awards for being largely influential and phenomenal in the field of science and technology.
