Popular also for his friendship with Physicist Richard Feynman, he has authored several books including Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! and Tuva or Bust! Richard Feynman's Last Journey. He is credited as originator of the concept behind Academy nominated documentary ‘Genghis Blues’. The movie ‘Infinity’, a biography on Richard Feynman’s early life, is based on Ralph Leighton’s book What Do You Care What Other People Think?
