Code War is an unconventional coding contest comprising three captivating rounds to test your programming and problem-solving skills. Unshackle your inhibitions and brace yourself as you enter into this ruthless real-time competitive world. Outsmart your opponents in each round to reach the top, and may the best programmer win!

Round 1: Strike 3

- It will be a coding contest on an online platform. There will be problems for which code will have to be written. Participants would be allowed only three submissions per problem, after which the problem will be locked.

- It is an eliminative round.

- Platform: Codechef

 

Round 2: Code Golf

- The top 32 people will be selected from Round 1 for this round.

- In this round, participants will have to solve the problem on an online platform. The given set of problems has to be solved using a minimum number of characters. (Characters mean alphabets, numbers, or symbols).

- Platform: Hackerank

 

Round 3: Code Battle

- The top 16 individuals will be selected from Round 2 for this round

- In this round, there will be a 1v1 knockout battle conducted on an online platform. Each battle will be eliminative, and the person who is the quickest and solves the problem correctly is the winner of that battle and can proceed to the next one.

- It is an individual event.

- In Round 2, only C and C++ languages are allowed.

- Do not discuss strategy, suggestions, or post solutions or tips in the comments during a live contest. Questions clarifying the problem statement must be asked directly to the organisers.

- Involvement in any kind of plagiarism or malpractice will lead to disqualification.

- In any situation, the decision of the organizers is final and binding.

 

Judging Criteria :

     Round 1:

  • Users will be ranked according to the number of problems solved.

  • Ties will be broken by the total time taken.

     Round 2:

  • The solution has to pass all the test cases first.

  • Each problem will be judged on the length of the source code. The best solution, i.e., the shortest solution, will receive the full score, and all the other solutions will receive a fraction based on how close they come to the best one.

      Round 3:

  • The candidate who solves first can proceed to the next challenge.

  • In case of a tie, both the participants from that knockout round will proceed to the next challenge.

- What are the languages that can be used in Round 1 and Round 3?

Any language can be used in Round 1 and Round 3.

 

- What will happen if there is a tie in Round 1 or Round 2?

In case of a tie, the time of submission will be considered.
