The intra-collegiate technical competition, Sangam is a platform for engineering enthusiasts to come together to work on an idea and endeavour relentlessly to make it come alive. It stands as an arena for innovation, technological brilliance and most of all, an opportunity to build the future.
Sangam is divided into three phases, each with their own set of criteria:
The deadline for abstract submission is November 30, 2019. The end result must be presentable during Pragyan '20 as a working model or a demonstration. Projects will be judged based on novelty, significance of the problem, relevance to the theme and other factors. Shortlisted candidates will be notified after the abstracts are reviewed.
Teams whose projects are selected will have to find a mentor of their choice to guide them through the project.
There will be two progress reviews. The first will be a presentation in front of a panel with all the team members, and the second will be presenting the final working model. The products for the reviews must be ready by February 28, 2020.
The final working project will be presented during Pragyan ‘20 and be judged by domain experts and industry veterans through an interactive session between them and the team members. The winning team will be decided by adding up progress review scores and final scores during Pragyan ‘20. The students should present their projects with the integrated business model for the scoring process.Learn More
When our ears hear, “Energy and Environment”, the first and foremost thing that comes to our mind is the various aspects of nature. As an important factor for the reason of life as a whole, building on technology under this bracket will help improve the quality of living. Often technology built under this domain aims to forge a sustainable future. This theme can be broadened to encapsulate things like engineering products that involves different forms of energy, projects associated with air, water and food, ventures that work towards clean and renewable energy, waste management systems and so on.
Today’s world thrives on the coexistence and cooperation of the healthcare and agriculture industries. The undying link between them has brought in investments which fund research systems that aim at integrating knowledge of these two realms. This knowledge is used to devise agricultural strategies that maximize nutrition while minimizing health risks. Over the last few decades, this area has witnessed a steep growth, but not without its own downfalls in increased obesity and ineffective methods of gene manipulations. The theme of Healthcare and Agriculture can include topics like new and effective methods of nitrogen fixation, integration of IoT with the theme, biomedical research and innovations in care farming.
With the first theme tackling humanity as a whole, and the second focusing on the individual, this third theme focuses on the country. Marching in the steps of a global leader, defence is as important as any other investment made by a nation. Defence could include any topic from autonomous systems, surveillance, devices that could come in aid for the army, navy, air force to cyber security. The manufacturing sector, also being one of the core contributors to the economy, industrial technology can include topics like disruptive technologies to scale manufacturing, support for small-scale industries, innovation in processes and productivity tools for industries.
Your team will be nurtured throughout the journey with expert mentorship from industry experts, business veterans and researchers, in addition to the access to various labs, and seed funding to work on your project might be sanctioned.
Your team will be given the opportunity to present your product in front of a panel of investors and technocrats from across the country, providing you with a unique chance to network and commercialise your product.
Your team will be provided with the exclusive opportunity to patent your project-work, which in turn shall witness further guidance and assistance from researchers to work with your team even after the competition ends.
