Embedded Systems Workshop

The Embedded Systems with Arduino workshop will be conducted to expose students to the Embedded Systems, which have recently sparked interest among technology giants. An embedded system is a combination of computer hardware and software, either fixed in capability or programmable, designed for a specific function or functions within a larger system. It is highly economical and has boosted telecommunication, automation & control, photography, and so on.

Learning Outcome:

The following topics will be touched upon during the workshop and divided between two sessions:

Morning Session:
  1. Introduction to:
    1. Embedded Systems
    2. Basic Electronics
    3. Arduino
  2. Programming digital inputs / outputs
    1. LED Blinking
    2. Switch Interfacing
Afternoon Session:
  1. Communication
  2. Analogue Inputs and Outputs
  3. Sensor Interfacing
  4. LED Fading
  5. RGB LED Interfacing

Laptops are necessary and kits will be provided to groups of four people.
Please note that registrations will be confirmed on first come first serve basis, only after payment.


1) Does the workshop have any pre-requisites?
There are no prerequisites for the workshop. All interested students can attend the workshop.

2) How should the payment be made for the workshop?
Payment must be paid on-spot. Pre-registration guarantees participation in the workshop.

3) On what basis are workshop registrations confirmed?
Confirmation of your participation is subject to availability. Registrations are confirmed on a first come first serve basis.

4) Is it a takeaway kit? Will each student be provided with the kit?
No. The kit has to be returned after the session is completed. Also, a team of 4-5 people will be provided with one kit.

5) Will certificates be provided?
Yes. A certificate from Pragyan NIT Trichy will be provided after the completion of the workshop.
