Pragyan’ 11 presents the creator of RSS Feeds and the brains behind ‘Google Custom Search’, a force to reckon with who has revolutionised one of the most powerful tools mankind uses today: The Internet Search Engine, the man who has been innovating at the cutting edge of the internet for the past 24 years, Dr. Ramanathan V. Guha.
Dr. Guha is the computer scientist who has made the internet as accessible as it is today. He is the pioneer of Meta Content Framework (MCF). MCF has been implemented in over 500 web sites, including Yahoo! to describe their site structure. While he was the Principal Engineer at Netscape Communications, he created RSS and RDF which is a web standard that allows web pages to be easily viewed across a variety of browsers and platforms, from cell phones to tablets to PCs.
He went on to lay the foundation for companies like Epinions and Alpiri with his ideas and vision. As a Google Fellow, he started Custom Search, Search based keyword tool and SMS Channels.
He has published numerous papers and developed projects dedicated towards making semantic web a tangible reality. He is one of the few men who envisioned the transformation of a young internet into the massive information source that it is today and aptly numerous honours and accreditations have been conferred upon him which include over 25 granted patents and invitation as an expert at Darpa and WC3
