SELECTION OF TEAMS BEGINS FROM FEBRUARY 7th

Situation:

The ICC has decided that the Champions League T20 isn’t the best solution to find the planet’s best T20 cricketing franchise. Voila, presenting the World T20 Championship, consisting of 18 hand-picked franchises and with over 200 players competing, the stage is set for the best-of-the-best to emerge from the ashes and establish their supremacy in the cricketing empire.

Now, your task is to pick a squad of 16 each of whom is competing in this tournament and your player’s performance in every match will impact your teams fortunes! Time to show the BCCI how to do it, get your pad and pencil ready and scroll away………

Round 1

• Round 1 is a purely online event.
   
• Tentatively, there will be 2 windows during Feb during which the matches will take place. More windows will be added later based on demand.
   
• It is a team event with at-most 2 members per team.
   
• 24 teams,12 from each window, go through to the 2nd Round to be held on-campus.

Format

• The user is given a cap of $7 million to build a squad of 16 players, team of coach(es) and for investing in training and fitness sessions.
   
• The squad can have a maximum of 6 batsmen, 6 bowlers, 2 wicket keepers and 2 all-rounders.
   
• All the selections take place from a given pool of 200 players and 20 coaches.
   
• The user must pick his team bearing in mind the form and skills of the player in equal proportions.
   
• The user can alter his playing XI before the commencement of every match.
   
• Each player contributes some amount of points to the team based on his performances for his respective franchise in the World T20 Championship. Eg. If you has taken MS Dhoni in your team, then for every run that Dhoni scores, or for every catch that he takes, your team will keep gaining points.
   
• The total number of points contributed by each player in the squad decides the best entries of the first round.
   
• The points are calculated on the basis of various parameters like Average, Runs Scored, Strike Rate, Economy Rate etc.
   
• The users can view detailed scorecards of the matches taking place in the tournament and can track the progress of his chosen players as well as others.
   
• Please do bear in mind that the more valuable your buy is, the more rewards your team gets.
   

Features

Training Session

• Every team has an option to invest in a training session for an individual player any number of times.
   
• The user must bear in mind that the fitness levels of every player would keep falling with every passing match.
   
• His performance level would also be proportionally impacted and therefore it is important to ensure that the playing XI taking field are fully fit.
   
• Hence, an effective rotation policy coupled with judicious investments in training sessions ensures a fit squad. Each training session would cost around $100,000.
   

Coach Impact

The user may keep in mind that a specialization of coach in any department, example, batting or bowling, could lead to a boost in the overall performance of the team in that department.

Sell Outs

• Any user has the option of selling upto 2 of it’s players.
   
• Once these players are sold, 50% of the sold player’s base price would be deducted from the user’s account.
   
• With the remaining 50% amount, the user can either buy a new player or invest in coaching staff or training sessions.
   
• Eg. If you bought Mike Hussey for $500,000 and decided to sell him, $250,000 will be taken away as penalty charges and the remaining $250,000 can be utilized by the user.
   

Note

• The matches are going to be simulated based on formulae generated by the organizers. Care has been taken to ensure that the scores of the player remains as realistic as possible by going through his record, form etc.
   
• There are no extra points for teams which have been formed with using the least amount of money!!
   

Round 2

• The top 24 teams of the previous round come to Round 2.
   
• Round 2 is an extension of Round 1 except that this time, the players are directly competing with another.
   
• The 24 teams are divided into 4 groups and based on the head-to-head encounters, 2 teams from each group proceed to the next round.
   

Round 3

• The last 8 teams with battle it out for the winner’s spot.
   
• There will be a live auction wherein all the 8 teams will bid to get the players of their choice.
   
• Lot of twists and turns in this part await the players which will be announced during the auction.
   

PLEASE READ THROUGH THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT YOU FOLLOW THE GAME!

Format for the first round of matches

• On February 19th at 9 PM, you are elegible to select your starting XI for the first match from 9 to 6 PM on the 20th.
   
• If you fail to do so, we will randomly pick a XI from your squad.
   
• Please specify the playing XI in terms of batting positions and ensure that the player has a strong record batting at that particular position. A player can be utilized to his maximum potential only if he is used at the right position. Eg. You will not be able to utilize Virender Sehwag to the maximum if you use him in the middle order instead of in the opening postion.
   
• Once you have done that, rest and keep your fingers crossed. The result of the first match will be displayed on February 20th between 6PM and 7 PM.
   
• None of your players is eligible for training sessions before the first match. You can avail that in the subsequent games.
   

Format for other matches

• There will be 2 rounds of matches taking place everyday- one at 12 AM and the other at 6 PM. Teams for the first match can be chosen between 12 AM and 12 PM and for the night match between 6 PM And 12 AM.
   
• For example, for tomorrow afternoon,ie, February 20th the second round of matches is at 6 PM. You have until 12 AM to choose your team for the 2nd match and subsequently can start choosing your team for the 3rd match after 12 am.
