Sky Lantern

 

Sky Lanterns are traditionally used in Thailand for celebrations and festivals. Many people release sky lanterns to symbolize the release of their worries and problems. Sky Lanterns (Khoom Fay, in the media known as UFO shaped Balloons) are traditionally made of oiled rice paper on a bamboo frame that contains a waxy fuel cell. As part of celebrations, sky lanterns are launched together in large quantity to create a beautiful and curious spectacle that can be seen from far away in the night sky. Come visit us here at NIT Trichy as we kick off Pragyan with a beautiful display of Sky Lanterns.
