This event compels participants to imagine and design a Rube Goldberg machine - a Domino Effect-based machine that performs a simple task in an indirect, complicated yet sequential manner. The event scrutinizes the participants' ability to construct and connect mechanisms in the most elegant way to leave the judges amazed with their creativity.

EVENT IS COMPLETED
Round 1 (Abstract Submission):
- Teams must submit an abstract of their idea for the given problem statement along with a hand-drawn sketch/machine drawing (in STEP or IGS file format) of their planned structure.
- The abstract must also contain details about the materials that would be required to build the machine.
- Teams can also mention how they have planned to uniquely use materials in unconventional ways to show how they stand out from the other teams.
Round 2 (Video Submission):
- The shortlisted teams will be provided with two problem statements.
- Out of these, the teams must attempt to build a functional Rube Goldberg machine satisfying any one of the problem statements of their choice.
- The teams will also be provided with a list of 15 common items. Out of these, they must use a minimum of 5 items of their own choice and availability of materials (along with other items) in the above-mentioned machine.
- The list of items will be provided to finalist teams sometime in advance for proper planning and procurement.
- They must submit a video of the actual working Rube machine constructed by them that solves the problem statement.
- Teams must also submit details about the materials used, specifications of items, etc., wherever necessary.
- After the submission, teams will also have a 7-10 minutes interaction session with the judge(s) to explain the idea and thought process behind the machine they have constructed.
- The final winners will be selected based on the judging criteria.
- Total time allotted for submission (from the time of announcement of problem statements for round 2): 10 hours*
*includes the time utilized to make the machine, write the description about the machine's specifications, and compile and submit the working video.
- Teams with a maximum of 3 members can participate in the event.
- Inter-college teams are also allowed.
For the second round
- If the Rube Goldberg machine becomes standstill at some point, it can be triggered manually at that point to continue the operation of the machine. The participants can do this a maximum of two times.
- Repetition of a similar mechanism will lead to a reduction in the points
- The videos and machine description (in document format) will be collected via Google Drive links.
- Discussion with the judges will be organized in google meet.

Problem Statement:
Yash had a tiresome and long day. Finally, when he hit the bed, he realized that he did not switch off his bedroom lights which were not operable from his bed. Yash felt annoying to get out of the bed to switch off the light. He imagined having a Rube Goldberg machine that would be triggered by an action from his bed and finally switch off the light. He also felt that it should have more than fifteen motion transferrable actions (steps) to make it look cool and to flex his design thinking. Help Yash in designing the Rube Goldberg machine so that he could have a comfortable sleep.

1) How many participants are allowed per team?
A maximum of three participants are allowed per team.
2) Do all participants have to be from the same college?
No. Inter-college teams are allowed. However, all the members of the team must possess valid college IDs.
3) Are UG-PG collaborations allowed?
Yes. UG-PG collaborations are allowed.
4) How will I be notified if I am selected for the next round?
The team leader will be contacted via phone/email in case of qualification for the next round.
